Got milk?
Another night under our belt and it keeps getting easier. The nurses evaluated Allie last night and she's still doing great. All her tests are awesome and she's only lost a little weight - down to 8lbs-15oz.
Having only lost 6oz since birth is nothing to worry about but she's feeding continuously - at least it feels that way - and when she's not, she is rooting for more. So last night we made the decision to give her a bottle of formula as a supplement. Our hope was that this would help tide her over and get more into her belly...at least until the milk comes in. It worked. Allie got a nice full belly and slept soundly from about 3am until 7am.
We're hoping that Kate's milk comes in today so Allie can get full feedings straight from mom. We aren't opposed to supplementing, we did it with Aiden, and until Kate's milk comes in it's best to keep Allie nourished and happy. Big babies love to eat!
