So not only was it my 30th birthday today...and thank you everyone for calling and emailing me. But, I was also...

- at the Cubs game
- was on the field (no I wasn't streaking)
- was on WGN-TV news

Today was our annual IPRA Day at the Cubs game. Since the mid-1980s we've been one of the very few groups allowed to be on the field prior to games...but we are able to have park district t-ball teams play ball in the outfield! It's so funny to see these little kids try to hit the ball up into the bleachers to all the screaming drunks. One kid actually did and they all went nuts, then threw the ball back!

Then, we had a representative from one of the park districts throw out the first pitch. This year was special because the little 5 year old boy's father has been in Iraq for the past year and is a huge Cubs fan.

We worked all day and night with their Congressman to get clearance for the dad to be able to watch the game and his son throwing out the first pitch. The media dug our story and WGN-TV did a nice piece before, during and after the game. You can see from the picture that I made the news. The Congressman's press secretary coincidentally went to high school with the father in Iraq and is working his connections to see if the story can be expanded to the Today Show, Good Morning America, etc. Now that would be cool!
